Hi guys, Its been awhile since i last installed a remote starter. The car is 2001 nissan sentra and does not require by pass because i can start it with my spare key. I have installed the unit but it wil not remote start and none of the power lock/unlock funtion works the only thing that works is the trunk opener so it tells me the remote is talking to the brain. When i try to remote start it will give 3 flashes and 1 flash indicating that the motor is running but its not. This unit should work using tachless right? i did not install the tach wire but it should still crank the starter but it doesnt. Can i do the tach learning without the use of the tach wire? The wires for the lock unlock are also connected so i am confuse why the trunk opener is the only thing working. Appreciate your help.

Okay guys, i got the power lock/unlock funtion working now (tapped the wrong wires oopps!). I still could not get it to remote start it would give 3 flashes and 1 flash - diag. is motor running. I have 2 starter wires, do i have to connect them both in the starter output of the brain or do i need to ;put them in separate relays? The wiring diag. suggest connecting both to the starter output. Please help, thanks.

Keep the two Starter wires seperate.  If you used the Compustar supplied pre-wired external relay for Accessory2, obtain another 30/40 Amp SPDT relay and use it for Starter2.  Wire as follows :

Relay Pins 86 and 87 to +12V thru 20 Amp fuse

Relay Pn 85 to CM6200 CN2 Pin 5 RED / Black (-) 250mA 2nd Starter Output
Relay Pin30 to Sentra Starter2
Relay Pin 87A not used - insulate

The Starter2 wire only affects cold starts.  Are you sure your vehicle does not require a bypass module?  ( Will a plain $1.99 hardware store key start the car?  All the bypass module manufactures list one for your car. )

Soldering is fun!

Hi, Kreg, thanks for your reply, the car came with a a cut key from a hardware store and i can start it using this key. I have 2 relays installed, one for the starter kill and another for the 2nd ignition, i will have to get another relay for the 2nd starter. I think my issue with the remote starter not starting is because i still need to wire the tach. I found out that the compustar 6200 is set to tach mode by default unless i program it using tachless but i am going with the tach wire. I can connect the tach to one of the wire in the injectors, other wiring diagram shows ignition coil connection. Is the injector wire more preferable? thanks.

I have the Euro version of that car and I went to what would have been the distributor cap on an earlier car look at the top of the engine block driver side, there's a module, 3-5 wires it's one of those.
Did you have 1 wire locking on yours?
The other place is the terminal marked tach or camshaft position sensor on the engine management, easiest place it's in the centre console if you can get a list of the engine management pin-outs.

Hi Howie, I am not sure what you meant with 1 wire locking, I have priority unlock drivers door but its not wired in the 6200. If i push the unlock button all doors are unlocked. The factory remote works with the priority unlock. My ECM is located under the hood in the passenger side according to the nissan manual that i have, I am going to tap the wire from the camshaft sensor or the injector wire, thanks.
