If you have not seem my thread, our neighborhood is having a string of car break in's and we are trying to protect our vehicles . My wife has a 2011 Kia Soul and we are looking at options. Her car is our primary car and we are willing to put some money into it to protect it as best as possible.
First choice, is a car alarm that can integrate into the factory key less entry remotes. The problem is I have called every auto electronics shop in my area and no one even thinks a product like this exists. So we are thinking we could buy one of these alarms online and have it installed. The only thing stopping me is I have not seen a single review on any of these kits, has anyone ever used one of these kits? Also if an installer has never used one of these kits could they have a problem installing it?
Second choice is going with a full alarm with possible remote start. We are debating between (2) way or not.. It seems like it would be worthless as in, if it notifies you, your already broken into so it wont help. We are debating if this is actually even worth the extra money. Remote start would be nice because my wife hates the cold so she can heat up the car before she get into it.
Just wondering if anyone has any put on what type of alarm would be better for protecting our car, or are they really both the same?
Thanks in advance!

Alarms using the factory remotes are available here in Europe but suffer from 2 problems
a) Lack of range.
b) Sometimes not enough facilities on the factory remote.
As for your other questions, a an alarm with a dual zone proximity detector will give a warn-away.
The rest is up to you and what you want to spend.
