hello every one, im trying to install the viper 5701 car alarm/remote start systema nd i have a few questions. the car is a 1992 chevy camaro with the 305 tbi and 700r4 auto.

i have the install guide and owners manual and what not but my main questions at the moment are;

1. can some one come over and do this haha, but no realy it is will i need a bit writer? ive been reading and it looks like i can program via remote, but only for the core functions, not for door lock/unlock, trunk pop, auto window up, ect.

2. where should/can i mount the "brain", the shock sensor stuff?

ive searched and found a post for an 87 camaro but it didnt have the info i was looking for plus 90-92 camaros have the v.a.t.s. but a.t.m. i think i have the wiring worked out, just need mounting locations please, thanks in advance for the help.

With the questions you've asked may I humbly suggest you pay a pro to do the install.
As a DIY job you have no warrantee.
You shouldn't need a bitwriter for any of the functions of this car.

thanks for the reply but if i had 250 dollars, plus 30 dollars a pop for the extras i would pay a pro, but like a lot of ppl i dont have that. plus i now i wont mess up the wiring, but its kinda hard for me to find a spot to mount the thing, seeing as how its a camaro haha.

and thanks for letting me now about the bitwriter.

I'll give you some ideas, drop the dash, pull the instrument panel, see if there's room behind, the centre console area, driver kick panel area.
The trick is to stealth the ECU but you need to be close to the ignition wiring.
92 Camaro should be on the Vehicle Wiring or Downloads/Manuals sections here.
