I think someone by passed the car before it will start with out the chipped keys. i went to install a remote start and not using a bypass to see if it is infact already bypassed.
ign 1 and 2 only are switched 12v. my alarm ask for a 12v all the time so i put that to the red.
RED / white wants full 12v also so i hooked that to the red also.
my ign wire + i hooked to ign 1.
now the problem is the start would enable but none of the dash lights would come on. fuel pump would not energize. i tried it on ign 2 also and nothing.
using a compustar RF-P2WSS

Are those the only connections you made? Or are you just referring to the ignition wire connections?
You have to energize both ignition wires and both accessory wires for the remote start to operate.
Use relays for any additional ignition / accessory wires that you need to connect.

12 VOLT CONSTANT       RED (+)
STARTER       YELLOW (+)
IGNITION 1       PINK (+)
IGNITION 2       GREEN (+)
IGNITION 3       N/A
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER ORANGE (+)
there is the connections
(red)12v got the 12v constant from the alarm.
(RED / white) wants 12v constant the only wire that had this was the same as above
switchable ign went to the (pink)
starter went to yellow
blower was hooked up.
when i would activate the remote start it would turn on the blower and crank the engine. but would not turn on the ignition none of the dash lights would come on.
where should i tap the relay from and do you have a diagram ?
also there were 2 pink wires that would have the same voltage im guessing either one works.
Thanks!

one will be pink off the brain and the other is usually pink/white (for DEI starters). The pink/white goes to your 2nd ignition. Both ignition wires HAVE to be hooked up. if you do not have a 2nd ignition output from the brain then you will need to wire up a relay as follows:
Pin 87 to 12v+
Pin 30 to 2nd igntion wire on vehicle.
Pin 85 to 12v+
Pin 86 to (-) ignition output from starter
What remote start unit are you trying to install. And did you make all of your other connections besides the ignition wires (ground, brake, tach, door locks, parking lights, etc)

98 Malibu is not a chipped key. it has pass lock 2, which is resistance based in the ignition cylinder itself. There are diagrams in the downloads section of this site using 2 relays and the correct resistance value to bypass it or you can purchase a bypass module.

will the blade module work to bypass? (idatalink) that is much easier to wire in.

Both of the red and RED / white wires go to your 12v consant wire in the car (RED)
Then the Green wire off the brain goes to your Ignition 1 on the car (PINK)
Then you need to wire up the relay in the last picture you posted to your Ignition 2 on the car (GREEN). Its tough to see in the picture, but this looks like it will be the long blue wire off the relay. But you must connect the (-) igntion output of the remote start into the "input" wire of the relay (I believe it was violet but I'm not 100% sure)
Then connect the accessory wire off the brain to your Accessory wire on the car (ORANGE)
Finally connect the yellow starter output of the remote start into the vehicle start wire (YELLOW).
Once you have that all done, then you can start looking into the bypass setup.
