I have a CodeAlarm CA-420 that a buddy and I were going to install Saturday but we ended up stumped.
So I've gotten the info from here: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~95175 about the actual factory wiring.
The manual for my device can be found here: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/downloads.asp?srch=all&term=ca420
Since this appears different from remote starters my buddy has done in the past and there's no easy to find how to docs, we didn't want to screw anything up. Here's what I think is needed (Please confirm):
Second starter: Normally open relay triggered by Remote start Starter output to send a negative signal through a 180 ohm resistor.
Ignition: Connect to Ignition 1 output of remote starter
Ignition 2: Not used
Accessory: Normally open relay triggered by Remote start accessory output to send a negative signal through a 610 ohm resistor.
Parking Light Output: Do I connect the parking light output to both parking light wires coming off the light switch on the drivers side?
Transponder Key Override: The manual says 'relay required' but I'm not sure I understand why.
If anyone knows of a how to document, please send a link or PDF if you can. I've googled my brains out and can't find any. Thanks!

Vehicle: 2007 Dodge RAM 5.7L
Remote Start: Code Alarm CA-420
Finished the install today of my remote start and everything is working properly with that portion. The issue is that after completing the installation, it appears that the immobilizer doesn't always recognize the keys. Here's what happens:
- If starting using the remote start system: Truck always starts and continues running
- If starting with either key: Truck always turns over but doesn't always stay running. SOMETIMES, the immobilizer light continues flashing and the truck shuts off. SOMETIMES, it works just fine.
If I remove the key and try again, it SOMETIMES works but on occasion I have to try several times. The issue exists with both keys but I'm 100% sure that both keys are programmed properly because it works fine some of the time.
The only thing I can think of is that the immobilizer bypass is somehow interfering with the keys? I am using Directed Electronics 556CW bypass which is hot glued to the side of the key cylinder.
Anyone have any ideas as to what I should try?

For anyone who has the second issue that I encountered (They decided to merge my threads), the issue was somehow related to the position that I chose for the override transmitter. Once I moved it to another location, everything is working.
