bypass for dataport dbi d2d?

the install 2003 Toyota Sequioa limited I'm going about to install my second Audiovox prestige. This new unit is the 997C I will be installing. I installed the 997a before. My question is. Are the data ports on the Bypass Transponders and the alarm units the same. I.e. DBI\D2D or should say will most or all communicate with each other ? This will be for a remote start and security alarm I'm installing. I have been looking on line and found the XpressKit PKall with D2D. Would this bypass be compatible with the Audiovox 997C DBI port plug-in? I know I could use flashlogic bypass. but I do like the wiring design of the PKall better than the Flashlogic FLTB1 -TL bypass. Just not sure if DBI\D2D are just two different names for the same thing i.e. ( data port. )    I really don't want to do W2W on this Toyota Sequioa. Thanks.

The modules mentioned only do the transponder bypass function, as such the D2D connection only saves you three wires with the harness

( Power, Ground and GWR ).  Not a huge time / work savings. 

Additionally, the PKALL bypass is connected to the IMO / IMI wires behind the glove box.  There are other bypass modules available that

connect at the steering column ( iDatalink ADS TBSL TI ) which could make the install easier.

There are 3 different "D2D" communication protocols, DEI's DBI, iDatalink RS232 and Fortin's Data-Link.   Not sure which is supported by

Audiovox Prestige.

thank you, The AudioVox is DBI, Audiovox still needs improvment on there manuals. I thought it might be harder to access the wires at the steering location vs the IMO / IMI in the Toyota Sequioa. in any case you are right, 3 more wire is about 10 minutes of work with solder gun. I was looking at both module diagrams for the W2W vs data wiring.   I was going to do W2W but some people on the board said that there having trouble starting with W2W being that that vehicle is not starting during cold weather. The solution seems be DBI or D2D. I don't why that would be or if it has something to with the communication during the start up process. I thought it was directed using data-link. ok I got it. I see the Directed name on the Xpresskit web site. so I take it Xpresskit is a division of Directed? So they might be using the DBI protocol. The Audiovox port is DBI compatible, so they should communicate with no problem if thats the case. The flash Logic DBI module is wired to the steering area. (might be the one to use then) I was thinking the IMO / IMI might be an easy access vs the steering. Seems like both will work with the AudioVox, but I'm going to write Xpresskit today anyway and find out for sure. The Flashlogic is DBI compatibile ,and more expensive though by about 20 to 30 bucks than Xpresskit PKAll. Price is not a big factor with me on the module, its getting the SUV started in the cold that is; I don't want to have the problem some are having with these cold weather starts.    Thank you very much for the information.

Yep, DEI = Directed.  Sorry for the confusion.  The PKALL is actually a Fortin Key-Override-All with DBI D2D comm instead of Fortin Data-Link.

Haven't heard about or had cold weather problems with W2W.  Usually cold weather affects transponders and that is why Data style bypass modules are preferred.
