I have a 08 Dodge Avenger I just want to install remote start on so when I saw the Add-on rs from valiant(JC Whitney) that uses the factory keyless entry remote I thought I'd try it.
I did a ton of research on modules and decided to get the XK-09(DB) bypass which was listed for the Avenger.
I compared the wiring diagrams from the Valiant and the XK and went wiring. I'm not very informed when it comes to how the D2D works but I wired according to the wire2wire diagram.
When I powered everything up the XK09 led lites solid and when I go through the setup (turning the ignition switch on/off) it just stays solid.
As for the Valiant RS it doesn't have an led and makes no sign of operation.
I'm just wondering do I need to program the XK first or the RS?
Is it necessary to download the settings for the 08 avenger first? Or should it already be on the XK?
thanks for the help

after a bit more research, I've come to the conclusion inorder to use the XK09 for my Avenger I need to get a XKLoader and flash the correct firmware first...
