I just got an autopage alarm/remote start and I'm trying to find what all i need to install it. I'm unsure if i need a data link box or not. And if i do will it control the lock/unlock or will it only disarm the factory alarm?

You can take your pick on the bypass. If you like the xpresskits then your best bet is the DB-ALL with the 401.GM5 v1.06.01 but you will have to get it from someone who can flash it for you with that firmware (unless you have the updater). It will do the locks, data immobilizer bypass (no key required except for programming), as well as hood and tach. I've had pretty good luck so far with the DB-ALL bypasses.
idatalink is another good source if you want to check them out as well. No matter which one you go with, use the wire to wire connections... don't trust the data to data.

If I get the idatalink do I need to get a specific version on it?
Thanks for your help.

you will need the firmware designed for the silverado. similar to the dball, as those are flash specific for each vehicle.

You'll need an ADS-TB.  Go to idata's site, put the vehicle info in, and you'll see the firmware.
