’97 4runner viper 5101 remote start

i got a viper 5101 remote start for christmas from my loving wife and need a little help. I have most of what I need. I have the viper 5101 wire diagram and the 4runner wire diagram. I am trying to connect all the dots in between. i have the factory vip rs3000 security system too. Does anyone have the answers? All of the ?'s are things that I'm unsure about. How do I get my rear defrost to come on as an option? Do I need anything extra? Which light flash polarity setting should I use? Will the control center receive a signal if its mounted in the glove box or should it be on the wind shield? I have the install guide also, for programing. I don't have any q's about that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
