08 honda crv remote start db all/viper

I installed a Viper 5701 alarm/remote start on a 2008 Honda CRV in D2D. For the most part everything works I just had the following questions. In the instructions for the DB-ALL its states you must connect the door lock/unlock outputs in order to avoid issues with the factory alarm, I was just wondering what these issues may look like? Also I found a great post that explains why the door locks wont work while the vehicle is remote started but it was in regards to an idata link module and not and xpresskit DB-ALL. Its not a huge deal but it would be nice to know how to wire this so I can lock/unlock while the car is running. Thank you for your input. Sam

its not a big issue, just simply when the car is not running, the data codes are mimicked identical to the Key fob; sent from the cars factory keyless entry module. When running, the codes from the keyless are no longer valid, as the vehicle says, car is running(key in barrel) the keyless should not work anyways. This is the reason you must hardwire the door locks. From the dball, connect the lock/unlock wires (analog) to the vehicles lock/unlock wire. Lock - Blue (-) driver kick panel. harness coming in from door white connector. Unlock Gray (-) same as above this harness is covered in black and gray tape. You should have more than enough room to get to the wires.Ted

Interesting. The wiring info I pulled said those wires were in a brown connector...I guess I should just test them to be certain. Thanks for the input I'll let you know how it turns out. Sam

this will vary depending on region. Im in ontario canada and when i did this vehicle it was white in colour. but thats a good idea, test with a multimeter. Black to the wires you are testing, red to constant 12v, turn the key in the driver door to test.Ted
