I have a 2007 Toyota camry se. It came with a prestige aps 787a. I would like to replace it with a viper 5601. The prestige does the locks and remote starts. Would it be as simple as figuring out which wires controlled what on the prestige and corespond them to the viper? Would I need anything extra to use the viper such as extra relays? I don't have the bit writer either would I absolutely need it for the install? I know it's alot to ask but I appreciate the responses and look forward to them.

If you can get an install diagram for the prestige then you can trace the wires to their connections; but still use a DMM to test the wires. Also, don't trust the pre-existing connections. Undo them and redo them properly so you know they are done correctly. You do not have to have a bitwriter to program the Viper... it can be done manually. The bitwriter just gives you more options and is a little easier to use.
