I put a ultra start 1272 in a 04 honda crv and am using a key in the box bypass (xpresskit tbx-key). Remote start works fine if I hold a key by the ignition cylinder. Bypass is hooked up correctly and relays click when remote starting. I have wrapped the wire around the front ring on the ignition cylinder (closest to where the key is inserted)and have tried wrapping many different ways and it wont start. Any ideas on if the wire has to be wrapped somewhere else or even back further for it to work?

dont mean to offend anyone, but the key-in-box is very oldschool, compared to the self learning bypasses that are available on the market. Mind you, I still use key-in-box for those cars that have no data solution. However i will always use a data bypass if available over the coffin.
do yourself a favour and buy a data style bypass. saves you a key and is much more reliable.
options are:
Idatalink ads-tb or ads-tbsl-ha
fortin: honda-sl3, key-override-all
xpresskits: pkall (same as key-override-all just rebranded)
of the ones shown, the honda-sl3, KOA/pkall will be the cheapest route. idatalink offers many solutions so you can look into that.

Have you confirmed you have power/ground/status from the tbx to the remote start?
