2000 jeep cherokee remote starter

I plan on installing a Viper 5301 in my Jeep and just want to make sure everything is right before I start cutting and splicing. H1 1 - Trunk Release Pink/Black 2 - 12V 3 - Horn Wire BLACK/ Red Horn Side 4 - Parking Lights BLACK / YELLOW Switch Side 5 - Ground 6 - Door Trigger Yellow 7 - Horn Wire BLACK/ Red Switch Side 11 - Parking Lights BLACK / YELLOW Light Side Are 8, 9, 10, and 12 not used? H2 9 - Tach Gray 15 - Hood Pin Switch 17- Brake Switch WHITE/ Tan 18 - Neutral Safety Wire Yellow Should more than these 4 be used? H3 1 - Ignition Blue 2 - 12V 3 - Accessory BLACK/ White 4 - Starter Yellow 5 - 12V 6 - Ignition 2 Black Orange 7 - ? 8 - Accessory BLACK/ White Door Lock 1 - Door Unlock Pink/Purple 3 - Door Lock ORANGE / Purple

First a few clarifications.  You have a Cherokee, not a Grand Cherokee.  There are big differences

between the two vehicles.  (  I have done the G.C.'s but never a Cherokee.)

Your ignition key is Black, not Grey.  The Black key does not require a bypass module, while the Grey

key does.

Check to see if the trunk is locked and unlocked with the doors.  If it is, there is no need for that

connection, H1/1.  Actually, the DEI & Bulldog wiring guides do not even list it.  Additionally, the Vipers Trunk Release output is (-) and you will need a relay to convert that signal to the (+) signal that the vehicle needs.

Doing the light switch isolation for the Parking Lights might be overkill.  There are no notes from

DEI or Bulldog about it, so just directly connecting H1/11 ( set @ + ) should be enough.

DEI has a note to use relays on the door lock wires.  Still a Type B (-) signal, not Type A of C.

Corrections:

H3/6 - verify factory default programming as Ignition2

H3/7 is not usedH3/8 should go the +12V constant
