parking lights

I need to diode isolate the left and right parking lights on a 2009 jeep wrangler. What size diodes would I need.

6 Amp minimum.  You could cut the wire and connect a DMM set to DC Amps to verify the normal current draw.  Also, it might change if you tow a trailer...Soldering is fun!

Or you can run wire to fuse box. Very easy. Positive WHITE/ green

I wish I knew who was writing up these nonsense tech sheets for late-model cars, full of misinformation. The WHITE/ purple wire will light up both sides of the car. No diodes needed. Positive trigger in the passenger's kick panel. I've heard you might be able to find the wire on the driver's side interior if you look either really high or really low in that area, but I never tried.

I printed up the sheet from bulldog site. lists a separate left and right wire. being my first install im trying to get everything figured out before the parts get here. thanks for the replies.

I disagree with 6A diodes. Parker bulbs are usually only up to ~7W (~0.5A), hence under 1A @ 12V. Hence any 1N400x diode assuming one diode per parker (eg, 1N4001, 1N4004, 1N4007). [ LEDs draw even less current - typically well under 1/100th of a bulb. ] Otherwise 1N540x diodes (3A) - eg, 1N5408. Being in series, the diodes only need to block a max of about 15V, hence diodes rates 50V (1N4001) and above are fine.

Chris is correct. This wire will light up both left and right p.lights. I believe you can grab it at the harness that runs under the drivers side seat that splits off from the harness that runs to the rear.I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

Does the output wire from the alarm get connected directly to the WHITE/ purple or does it need to go though a relay first.

The positive output from the alarm goes directly to WHITE/ purple as long as the alarm has a 10A parking light circuit.I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage
