I have two cars both with Viper 5704 remote start/security systems. I am trying to program my 7752v transmitters to operate both vehicles from one remote (one for the wife and one for myself without having to switch keychains every time we drive each others cars. The problem is that I can't get the remotes to go into "Car 2" mode. I think I have it setup correctly in the remote's menu for Car 2 to be enable however, I don't see the icon displayed when I press and hold the "function" button for 3 seconds. Am I missing something? This should work. Based on the documentation I should be able to switch "Car" modes by holding down the function button for 3 seconds. Nothing happens for me except it goes into the main keypad remote menu.
The only think I can think of is that it only can be enabled through a DEI Bitwritter and not through the remotes themselves. I can't find documentation of this. Do I need to buy a Bitwritter or should this work without it?
Thanks for your help!

Have you enabled the 2nd car option on the remotes? They are set to 1 by default on all multi-car remotes!

To program the remote user features:
Press and hold the button on the remote for about 8 seconds. (ignore the car indicator at 3 seconds if enabled). The status screen clears and "Main Menu" is displayed in the text display area of the screen. Use the "AUX" & START buttons to scroll, Goto Remote Setup press & hold Function until beep then scroll to Car 2 and function again then scroll to "ON" and Function for 1 second. Save and Exit anytime by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK or no activity for 30 seconds. Finally you need to change the Car mode by pressing function for 3 seconds and release it and tap if again to change Car. (Note remote must be selected to the proper Car prior to pairing the remote mode is entered)

If they used t-taps, check to see if the t-taps cut through the any of the ignition wires.

What do t-taps have to do with remotes?
He is trying to put remotes in Car2 mode and pair each remote to two cars, which is turned off by default on the remotes from the factory which is why holding the function button for 3 seconds dosen't beep to change from Car1 mode to Car2 mode. Please read and understand the post before replying to keep confusion to a minimum!

Wow, that's really odd. That reply was to a completely different topic... I have no idea how it transferred to this topic. I apologize for any confusion.
