Hi

I just bought a pyton 574 (same as viper) and see they have went back to a external shock sensor

can any one tell me what to hook the the green (-) warn from the shock sensor to?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, one end of that harness has the red, black, blue and green wires with the green looped into the blue.
The other end has all 4 same colors but the green is not connected to the blue wire and has a bare end.
The green gives you the option of using the warn output of the sensor if you wish. Light taps to the vehicle will trigger a warn signal on the green wire (usually 5 quick chirps of the siren). While a harder hit triggers the blue wire which is an instant trigger and sounds the full alarm.
If you don't need the warn feature (most don't care for it), you can just tape the end of the green wire and secure it to the other 3 wires. Make sure you plug the end of the harness that has the green looping into the blue wire into the sensor and other end into the alarm.
Hope that helps.

So if the green loop end plugs into the sensor what would the green wire on the brain plug side hook to if you where going to use the warn?

Thanks

If you wanted the warn function to work, you would cut the green wire where it connects with the blue one (sensor side) and splice it with the longer green wire that is not currently connected to anything on the plug going to the brain side.
That will give you 4 independent connections. Power, Ground, instant and warn triggers or Red, Black, Blue and Green.
Hope I didn't make it more confusing.

No you have been way helpful!

But what would you do use the warn or no warn?

i personally use the warn on my system. I have a Viper 5900 with multiple sensors and most of them use the warn function.
Some people don't care for it and prefer to just have to full alarm go off with any hit and set the sensor accordingly.
It's really up to you. It's not necessary to have the warn. Some like it as a notice to others that it has an alarm.
