I have a 04 Accord that has an Avital 2101 system installed from the previous owner. What I am trying to do is to re-program all the Honda transponder keys so that the remote door lock/unlock would work on the smartkeys.

I am following the Honda's instruction in reprogramming the keys, basically put the key in Ignition, turn to II, and then hit "Lock" on the smartkey", and turn to 0, and repeat 3 times... But as soon as I put the smartkey into ignition and turn to II, the doors all automatically locks itself (from Avital). I read the owner's manual of Avital, and it says this function is default. However, I can't program the smartkeys if Avital keeps locking the doors as soon as i turn the smartkey to position II.

I have tried to use the valet switch, but the doors would still lock as soon as my keys turn to ignition position II. Is there a way to temporarily disable Avital at all? I don't mind the extra security, but now all my smartkeys aren't able to remote unlock/lock any doors.

Any help is much appreciated.

Any chance of finding the fuse to the Avital and pulling it to do you key thing?
