I have a DSM 200 revision B connected to a DBALL and use a Chrysler CHTHD1 T harness to connect to my 2012 Grand Cherokee. I can unlock the car, lock, view status, and a few other features of the smartstart but I cannot actually start the car.
I do not get any sort of error on the phone, it just says "sending command" and then times out. The hood status is closed, doors are closed, and i have tried with the car both locked/unlocked. Previously i had a DBall and could press lock 3x with the keyfob and the car would start. I reprogrammed the dball for SmartStart and now it will only lock/unlock.
I cannot get any sort of tech support from DEI since I am not a dealer. Although I have been installing remote starts for a couple of years now, these new ones seem to give me problems.
Does anyone have any ideas why the car might not be starting? Is there a setting I missed when activating the smartstart? I grounded the correct wire on the module, programmed the DBALL correctly, it just doesnt want to start.
Any help would be appreciated.

Which unit is the dsm200 hooked to and will it start with the regular remote?
Try unplugging and reconnecting .
Is the neutral safety off?

The Dsm200 is hooked directly to the dball, the dball is programmed for RSR Smartstart mode. I'm going to reprogram it and try pressing lock 3x on the factory remote. The hoodpin wire is grounded, no neutral safety switch is required per the directions on Xpresskit.

I reprogrammed the module for a 3rd time, and apparently that did the trick. Everything works great, now to hook up my trunk release if only I can find the wire.
