I have this alarm in a 96 Trans Am that was already hooked up when I bought the car. Two issues are at hand but the main issue is the driver side door will not lock using the key fob or the door switch. I can lock it manually and all doors will unlock using the fob or door switch and the pass door will work correctly as well. I have been testing wires at the BCM, in the door and at the grounding points trying to see if there are any dead wires but all the tests are saying the lock should work. The door lock actuator is ok as well as I tested it on the pass side door and it worked. Would the driver door not locking be tied into the Viper alarm somehow? I don't want to tear apart the dash if it isn't linked together somehow.
The second issue I have with this alarm also is when you dis-arm it will act as if you just turned the key to the on position in the ignition and the radio will start playing until the door is opened then it shuts off. Somehow the disarm is tied into the R.A.P so i do not know if both these issues are linked together or what.
    Any ideas?

1) If the symptom is the same with key or Viper fob, then it's the car.
Driver's door actuator has failed, either that or a wiring break.
2)Only the ACC should work that way, internal join on 791?
Originally had 2nd. ignition programmed as 2nd. ACC?
Only the ACC should work that way.
PS the only way to test the suspect actuator would be to test the motor
wires at the motor, or use a power pack and feed directly after disconnecting the motor wires.
At a guess, 5 wires to the actuator, 1 ground, 2 to ground on door key lock and unlock, 2 motor wires.

I tried to trace the wires to check for any breaks but came up empty unless its somewhere under the dash tucked away really good. I bought a new actuator and tried it with same results. I pulled the driver door lock actuator and hooked it up to the pass side and it worked fine. At times you can hear the driver side lock make a faint click when hitting the lock button but just doesn't have enough juice it seems to actually make it happen. It did work in the beginning but I had to hit the lock button a few times before it actually locked.

Sounds to me that the motor is failing under load, when you hooked it to the passenger side did you actually install it to control the locks, i.e. under a load.
Ref tracing the wiring find those motor wires at the actuator, disconnect and extend from the actuator to the battery, that will tell you in one whether you have a bad actuator or bad wiring.

I did try it under load on the pass side and it was nice an strong. Even when hooked on the drivers side and I disconnect all the locking bars that go to the handle and door lock when you hit the lock button it doesn't move. When you hit the unlock button it snaps quickly as if it were unlocking. I have heard it could be a BCM issue from where the alarm is tied in but that seems to have mixed reviews due to it only being the driver side not locking.
