Hey guys...
I'm installing my first remote start system with remote locking. Installing this into a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder R50 and just had a few questions if anyone could shoot through some advice. I have had a look around but can't seem to find what I'm having troubles with. If there is other threads about this please just send through the link. Cheers.
So the system is a radiowave with remote start and all your other standard features. I am pretty confident with the remote start aspect of the system but am not sure about the central locking part as there are so many different things.
Here is the outputs the unit has and what i think they go to/questions I have. If anyone can help could you let me know where i'm wrong and the ones I have no idea...Thanks
1. Parking light output (+) 8A = Parking lights? Is this the indicators or actual lights?
2. Parking light output (+) 8A = Why are there two of these?
3. Trunk output (-) 300mA = Trunk release. For the R50 I want this to go to the glass hatch
4. Horn output (+) 3A = Not sure if this is meant to be the horn or alarm siren
5. Lock Relay 87a at normal = ????
6. Status Accessory output (-) = ????
7. Lock relay 30 at normal = ????
8. Door trigger input (+/-) = Interior light dome
9. Lock relay 87a at normal = ????
10. Brake Pedal trigger input (+) = Break pedal trigger
11. Unlock relay 87a at normal = ????
12. Engine disable output (-) 300mA = ????
13. Unlock relay 30 at normal = ????
14. Engine induction input = I think this is my tachometer
15. Unlock relay 87 at normal = ????
16. Hood trigger input (-) = Hood trigger
So as you can see i'm not sure about all the door ones main.
As for the car and the SECU it has connections according to the manual for these that seem to relate to the doors...but I dont know what unlock/lock relay to hook up to where...
54. Door lock actuators - Door lock & unlock switch (free --> Lock)
55. Driver door lock actuator - Door lock & unlock switch (free --> Unlock)
56. Passenger, rear and back dors lock actuator - Door lock & unlock switch (Free --> Unlock)
Any help or info would be great.
Thanks heaps.

Could I respectively and most strongly advise that from your questions don't even attempt to do this yourself.
Nearly all your questions are most basic and could be answered from the installation manual of your alarm-remote start.
Anyway I'll try.
What is the make of the unit "you" will be installing?
It would have been much easier to print the alarm-R/S wiring colours against your questions.
X = Instruction manual.
1 and 2, 2 separate circuits that's why. Parking lights North America, indicators everywhere else.
3 Will need a relay.
4 Siren or via relay to a hornX.
5 Part of 6 wire relay driven lock/unlock system.
6 Ground when running used amongst other things to trigger an immobiliser by-pass if neededX.
7 See 5
8 On SECU
9 See 5
10 To brake lights from brake switch.
11 See 5
12 Ground when armed, add-on starter cut/anti grind relay.
13 See 5
14 Tach
15 See 5
16 Yes
Tell me if your car has a factory alarm or not, I can tell you how to do the locks.
I'll also post the DEI info on your vehicle in the next 10 minutes.
Look in the Downloads/Manuals section above, search as 03 Nissan Pathfinder.

Thanks heaps for you help so far and getting back to me.
I agree with you haha, I probably shouldn't be doing it. But i have been quoted $320 to get it installed so thought i'd ask around for some help to see if i can work it out. But i can assure you I won't do it unless i'm confident in the help i've been given so thanks so far :-)
I downloaded the wiring information for the remote start, they didn't seem to have it for the 2003 pathfinder but I know they are the same as the 2004 so I have the part colour and location of the wires I need to access. I also have my nissan manual wich confirms these for me.
The unit I have is one from eBay, it's a radiowave brand. Here is the link for it if it helps
http://www..au/itm/RADIOWAVE-Remote-Engine-Start-Keyless-Entry-Car-Alarm-Immobilizer-Bypass-Module-/190702124221?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c66bb7cbd#ht_11143wt_908
The car does have a factory immobiliser which I should be able to work around with the bypass module that came with the radiowave alarm.
They locks is the biggest thing i'm not understanding at the moment. Thanks for your help and if you are able to instruct me with the locks that would be fantastic. Thanks heaps and just let me know if you need more information at all.
Cheers

Can't get to that site but I've never heard of the brand so that's a good start....
Do you already have a factory alarm? Let me know and I'll show you how to do the locks.
Also the colours then I can print up some wiring diagrams for you.
You will need at least 3-5* Bosch/Tycho cube style ISO mini relays plus about 20 1N4004 diodes!
Actually $320 (A$320 = £160? Yes?)is about right by UK standards.
A lot less hassle than you trying this yourself.
Hatch glass = relay.
Horn (if no Siren provided) = relay
2nd. starter = relay
Priority unlock (driver's door then others) 3 extra relays.
