avital 4103 problem

Installed on a 91 Subaru Legacy L. Everything works great except it will not allow us to change any settings such as run time, either with a bitwriter or by using the programming button. It is stuck in the default settings. The red light on the remote start is always flashing rapidly and I know that isn't normal from previous installs. I tried calling DEI and they said they know what is wrong but refused to tell me because I am not a dealer.

Check your power and ground connections. Then try reprogramming the remote. You can also try putting the key in the ignition, turn it to 'on' then press and release the programming button.Kenny

Yep nothing.....It remote starts and all the features work but it will not allow itself to be reprogrammed. It's defaulted to 12 minutes run time and the custome wants 25 minutes...

Press unlock on the after market remote before going into programming mode   Should allow you into programming menuIf i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

Glad it worked out. Not sure why they don't I'm guessing it's because there supposed to be installed by a DEI shop that would know it already. the older ones didn't do it but all the new ones doIf i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe
