I personally like to stay away from DEI bypasses. They tend to be 'old' technology and are prone to issues (from my experience). Spend a little more and get an idatalink bypass. It will save you time and frustration down the road.

The 555LW bypass module will work, as the 2006 Equinox has the Passlock2 ignition immobilizer system.  As Kenny
mentioned, it's an older module and been discontinued for several years.  The main problems you will encounter with
the Equinox are the (+) door locks and if the vehicle has the Factory Alarm.  The door locks can be handled with
the DEI 451M module ( $7 ) but a Factory Alarm could be an issue.  There are newer bypass modules that handle the
Passlock2, alarm and door locks thru Data.  Here is a link to a recent post that will give you some more info :
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~132274~PN~1  ( The 2005 and 2006 Equinox are similar.)

Using the ADS DL module flashed with ADS DL GM4 firmware makes the install very easy.  A few thing to point out.

While there are only five wires to connect from the ADS DL to the Equinox, there are several more that must be

connected from the "Remote Starter" to the Equinox.  Here is a list of additional wires :
   1. +12V constant(s) ( R/S to Equinox )
   2. the one Ignition and 2 Accessory wires ( R/S to Equinox )
   3. Parking Lights ( R/S to Equinox )
   4. Brake ( R/S to Equinox )
   5. Hood Pin ( R/S to Equinox )
   6. Chassis Ground ( R/S to Equinox )
   7. Horn - optional ( R/S to Equinox )
There could be others depending on which brand / model R/S system you use.

All of the wire connections shown in the Type 2 diagram ( solid and dashed lines ) should be made ( W2W mode ).

This will give reliable performance with any quality brand remote starter.

The main issue with the ADS DL bypass module for you is getting one flashed with the correct ADS DL GM4 firmware.

You would need to find a local Install shop that uses iDatalink products or an online seller that would supply
you with the module flashed with the DL GM4 firmware.  Check around first.

( And iDatalink is based right in Quebec!   2006 chevy equinox -- posted image.   )

While it is not one of my normal brands, the Avital 4103 is a popular system.  There are other systems that have

longer range, two-way ( conformation ) FOB's and more features but the price goes up quickly.  For a solid, basic
one-way remote start with keyless entry system ( like the 4103 ), figure about $60.

As long as your Equinox does not have the Factory Alarm, using the modules you originally mentioned plus a DEI 451M

is not too hard of an install.  While the DEI 555LW install guide is difficult to follow, the actual Passlock2
install is pretty easy.  Same for the DEI 451M door lock module.  Here is a link to its' install guide :
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=726   Just use the Type A wiring diagram.

To test for alarm:  Next time you park it, roll down the window, turn it off, open door, get out and hit lock button, shut door and wait 2 minutes.  Reach in open

window and open door with inside handle.  Any honking?

Your Mazda should have a transponder based ignition immobilizer system and need a bypass module.

Then you have a factory alarm.
