Putting a Viper 5900 into a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Long story short it was for a friend and he bought it. I showed up on Saturday to install it, printed off the tech sheet and realized the 455t or 455J would be the best option. Being a Saturday and have many extra hands (plus he didnt want to wait a week to get the 455t/355j)......I installed everything, two 451m's one is each front door (pida). The last thing to hook up was the door trigger. Search all over the drivers kick and I could not find the yellow negative trigger wire. So I went to the security mod. found each door trigger. diode iso each one and bingo done. All doors triggers fine. Went through and zipped everything up, put the truck back together, went home.  30 min later get a call that everytime he arms the alarm goes off a few mins later. Drive back over thinking that maybe when the dome light went off it was false triggering.  Nope it would not trigger for two min after the dome went out.

Question: Does the Jeep's security mod shut down after a set time and then sends a false negative trigger? I Example: like Ford (explorer, f-150 ect.) have a the GEM mod that will shut down after 30min and give a flase trigger . Does the Jeep have something like that?

If I cant figure this out I am go it just run a wire to the dome light (+ trigger) and switch to progressive trigger.

Does the dome light switch off within 3 seconds of locking the vehicle with the 5900 fob?
If so use the dome light feed.
Otherwise it's the good old DEI 1076, 8 diodes.
Time the false alarms they should be regular, i.e. every 20 or 30 minutes.

Dome light stays on for 30sec after you lock the door.....I timed it and it will false trigger exactly 30 seconds after the dome light goes out (ie...one min after the doors are locked)

1076 it is............doing it tonight so we will see how it goes.
