HI I want to put a single zone motion detector in my truck.

I was reading that the dual zone motion detector gives false alarms when it rains.

Would the single stage give me false alarms in the rain?

So the single zone would still false in the rain?

Yes, no difference between a single and a dual, the dual simply outputs a signal that gives an 0.8 second or less pulse, the single or inner zone longer.

They both work on detecting water molecules, I believe at 44Ghz.

you can use a commercial alarm PIR motion detector. they make waterproof ones, the PIR stands for passive infrared, it shouldnt false in the rain because it is made to detect heat and motion and it shouldnt trip without seeing both. they work on 12 volts too and basically act as a switch connected to one of the alarms instant trigger wire.

yea just do a search, honeywell and maybe ademco make some nice ones.
