I am looking for a remote start system that will automatically turn on the turbo timer for 2 or 3 minutes after the key is removed. I am handicapped and my car, a 97 yukon, has a lift that uses a lot of battery power. I have difficulty using remotes and pressing small buttons and would like for the turbo mode to kick in every time to keep the battery charged while the lift runs. I don't want to have to press any buttons after I switch the key off.

A remote start will have small buttons, hence PM Kevin.

Don't quote me on this, but I BELIEVE the compustar systems activate their turbo timers automatically. It just has to be turned on in the programming options during the initial installation.

The RF1WG2AM remote buttons aren't that small. And I thought it was fully automatic once it was turned on? Or do you have to manually turn it on every time?

The larger the button the better, but I can get by with smaller buttons. I have difficulty hitting a combination of buttons in a short period of time, and I can't press two buttons at once. It would be help if it did it automatically every time. I like the looks of the compustar one button remote but I don't think they have a turbo timer.

What's nice about compustar is that you can get the main module (remote start or alarm / remote start combo) and then you pick out your remote kit. So the module features (turbo timer) will be the same regardless of the remote kit. However, since some of the features do require a one time combination of buttons to activate, you may need to put a 4 button remote in at first to activate it, then switch to the 1 button. I was hoping someone would chime in regarding whether or not the turbo timer was 100% automatic once enabled.

I checked with my local rep because one of my customers was wondering the same thing and they did verify that the turbo timer function is a one-time activation from the remote and then it is engaged by applying the ebrake. So basically, install unit, program turbo timer to desired time, activate once with remote, engage ebrake whenever you wish to activate it.
