hi,
I just got the Viper 5704 remote starter installed in a 11my Honda crv.
however I am having some issues with the remote start function:
the 1way remote is working fine for remote start and lock/unlock functions.
the 2way transponder can lock/unlock. however the remote start on the 2way transponder does not work. The remote display shows remote start error. There are not flashes from the headlights and I don't hear any relays click or anything.
It's a little strange.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Start by deleting all remotes and re-pairing them. If the remote has the same problem then it's likely a bad remote.

Thank you for suggestion.
I will update my current situation.
Finally, the remote (2-Way) started to work correctly. Seems I was not properly pushing the start button. There is a specific method to operate the remote which was not obvious to me. I had to hold the start button for approximately 1 sec or 1.5 sec and then release and repeat the operation one more time.
I was not holding the button long enough. I released the button when I heard the beep sound from the remote.
Anyway, it was my incorrect operation.
Thank you for your suggestion though. I was about to do the procedure you mentioned, but I had though to try one more time before I do that.
Next I need to figure out How to possibly change the engine run time and also check the temperature reading (seems too high), may need to do some calibration somehow, if all possible.
Thanks.

Just be aware that it takes four button presses to get to option 3 as the fourth press is a hold to access and change the setting.

Without a bitwriter you have the default run time of 12 min. and can change it to 24 or 60. As for the temp it's to give you an idea of the temp and not a adjustable setting.

Yeah, seems like I need bitwriter to adjust the runtime. According to the 2way remote, the runtime set on my system seems to be 24min. When the car is started, I can see a countdown from 24. I was hoping to change it to a lower setting. But, seems not possible now.
For the the temperature, I understand. Thanks.

you dont need a bitwriter to change the runtime, you can do this through the valet switch that is part of the antenna assembly. the bitwritter only makes it easier and lets you more options as to how long you want the car to run. the programming table inside the install manual tells you how to change the settings through the valet switch.
