Hello everyone, My first time on and have a question. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi. I HAD A Valet 56R1 installed in 2005. The thing has worked great until just recently. The fan for the Windshield defrost has stopped working, pointless to have a remote start in winter if it is not going to defrost windows. Is there a way to fix, maybe wire came off, or just junk now. Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks in advance

Sorry about that, only when remotely started. When I get in and turn the key on the fan turns on

Ok it sounds like one of the acc wires from the remote start isn't powering up the truck. Do you own / know how to use a Volt meter ?   You could start by checking the fuses that go to the remote start module. If all are ok then you will need to start testing wiring and checking connections

Thank you, chev104275. I found the install instructions on the download forum and found the defrost wire, it was loose at the connection, all good now. I have installed remote starters before on late 80's early 90's vrhicles but not on the newer vehicles so i thought i would have a shop do it. they gave me nothing, no box, no instructions and there looks like there is a spot for a programmer button that wasnt given to me. i guess that is so I have to go back to them to have any work done. thanks again for your reply, case closed
