valet 552t remote start kills battery

I have a 2002 F250 with a Valet 552T Remote Start system that seems to be broken and it's keeping the ignition on, thus killing the battery. I think I must have caused this myself because of the way it started. I remote started the vehicle, then I realized I didn't need to go anywhere so I poked the gas pedal which killed the ignition. I left it like that and my battery was nearly dead the next time I went out to use the vehicle later that day. Ever since then, the ignition never shuts off! There are dash lights that are always on (dimly) except when I have the vehicle running. If I charge the battery and start it, it runs fine, but when I shut it off, the ignition stays on :(
Did I ruin this remote start? I looked at it under the dash and I didn't see any open fuses (I found 4 fuses in the harness for the unit).
Can anyone provide more ideas? I would like to keep it, but if I need to just disable it to keep it from killing my batteries, that's ok too...

Definitely not the 522t. Over -revving as you did should simply shut it down.
The only way to tell for sure would be to test the pink ignition out put. It should read 0v at rest.

does your 552T use  bank of relays or does it use the XRCS relay?

hopefully its the bank of relays. if so, maybe the bank needs a new ignition relay(the one plugged into the pink wires most likely)

maybe that one failed. arc'd together contacts or more likely the spring broke.

unplug the relay and ee if the problem goes away.

one thing you can try if it has the bank of relays is remove the one on the pink wired plug, and move the one from the orange wired plug over to the pink wired plug.

if everything works correctly (except the heater wont come on with the remote start because that was what the orange wired plug is for) then you just need a new relay!!

did you install this remote start yourself?

are you comfy with using a meter and trouble shooting auto electronics?

This has a bank of 3 relays, I will try your idea of switching them, but I have more info that may change things. I just took it for a drive and it wold not start when I shut it off at the gas station. I got a jump and came straight home and it nearly died on the way. Now my batteries are dead. I assume I was running off my batteries and I'm not charging, as I just bought 2 new batteries this past summer. So this problem may be something other than the rem start. So the batteries are charging now and I sure wish I had a voltmeter on this truck! I haven't seen any low voltage idiot lights, but my antilock light did come on.
Would a fried alternator have these symptoms? I know you can drive without an alternator on batteries for a time until they die, but the way the ignition stays on, I thought it was related to the rem start...

Fried alternator or failed alternator belt. But if the second you would have the battery icon stay on.

Alternator was dead. New one fixed it. But dang that was weird how it started, totally thought the problem involved the rem start... Thanks for all your help folks!!
