Hey guys, I have a Chevy truck I jus put a ls 6.0 in and am trying to put a viper remote start in. I have the wiring chart for the alarm and amm not sure of the correct wiring for the locks. I don't know if I am going to have to add a relay or not for my power locks to work correctly. Also not exactly sure of exactly which wires I am gona need to make it work correctly with my vehicle. I know the basic wires I am going to need but if anyone is familiar with this system and using it in older Chevy vehicles any advice would be appreciated. All the cab factory wiring was used and works apropreatly.

look above the gas pedal under the dash. if there is a relay (silver box) there, operate the door locks. relay should have orange, tan, grey wires in one connector, light blue and black or white in the other (major wire colors). listen/feel for the relay operating. if it does, there are your door locks. they're positive controlled. the 5301 should be able to operate the relay coils directly as the manual here shows it having low current reverse polarity outputs.

If that's the case you will need to diode the 5301 lock outputs, 1N4004 in line, bands away from the 5301.
