I am not a big XK01 ( or Viper ) user but there are some things to check / clarify.  The vehicle & bypass module is a popular

one, so hopefully another installer with XK01 experience can jump in and assist.

Missing some info but we will assume the XK01 was properly flashed with the correct AMDL firmware and you are going D2D

between the modules.

Switching over to W2W will provide a more reliable operation overall and will make troubleshooting easier, if necessary.

The XK01's Door Sense Trigger Output only monitors and supplies info on the front doors.  The rear doors and trunk should be

added to the 5704's Door Trigger Input wire for better / complete vehicle security.  These trigger wires can be found at the BCM
beneath the steering column.  The rear doors are Light Green and Light Blue/Black wires and the trunk is Pink/Black.  Each should
be diode isolated ( 1N4001 diode with band towards the vehicle / BCM ).

The XK01 w/AMDL must be programmed to Type 4 during install to operate properly in your Suburban.  This process is

detailed on Page 7 of the install guide.  The factory default is Type 1.  Here is a note on Step 4 of the module programming
for the Type 4 :
In step 4 of the Vehicle Type Programming: on GM
vehicles (types 1 to 4), the LED will not flash; it will
stay solid red. You will need to use the key and
start the vehicle to turn the LED off and complete
the programming sequence.
Not sure how to reset the XK01 to start over, but a firmware re-flash would do it.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks for the reply and yes all that info is correct. This morning I disarmed it and the doors unlocked but when I armed it, it didn't lock. I armed it 30 minutes later and then it locked.
