I just installed an Avital 4103 RS and XK01 Bypass into my 2004 Buick Park Avenue. I used W2W and soldered all connections. Before the install, the parasitic battery drain measured 30 milliamps. After installing, I'm seeing 60 milliamps.
Is this increased draw typical, or should I look for a problem with my installation?

Are you having an issue with the vehicle? I don't like to see above 50mA with everything off, but I wouldn't be overly concerned about 60mA.

Surely that extra 30mA is within limits?

Thanks for the responses. There doesn't seem to be any problems and everything works as expected. I was just a little surprised at the 30mA increase. I have always thought that anything over 50mA total may be excessive, but I guess I'm close enough not to worry.
Out of curiosity, is the bypass module suppose to always be on? Or does it shut down when not needed, and what triggers it?

bypass need 12v constant however, is triger by the R/S, it should work only when is need it
how own your mind, control your life.

Most draws that I've seen have been because of high resistance on the ground location for the RS/Security system. Test the ground that you have by referencing it to the battery terminal ( not where the battery ground is attached to in the engine compartment ). I've seen resistances as high as 21 ohms on Ford's on the ground reference. Ford's are terrible for grounds and therefore terrible for parasitic draws.
