02 buick park ave, gmdlbp bypass, 5704v

I have a couple of things I was needing help with before I begin my remote start and alarm installation. I'm using the xpress gmdlbp bypass module, with a viper 5704v alarm/remote start. Now most of the ?'s are about the bypass 1. Where do I connect the dome light input coming from the bypass module (my car dome light is a negative output) 2.for my trunk release coming from the bypass (-) trunk input, do I connect it to the car or alarm system is this the release or trunk pin? (the car trunk release and pin are a negative output) 3. (-) door trigger output, do I connect to alarm or a door trigger on car

The GMDLBP is a poorly documented product, but it actually works pretty well. Brown: Blue or blue/white "status" output from Viper Green: Green lock output from Viper Blue: Blue unlock output from Viper Violet/white: No connection should be needed Violet: Violet data wire in car Pink/white: Green door trigger input on Viper Pink: No connection Orange: RED / white trunk release output from Viper Red: Fused constant Black: Ground And that's pretty much it. Again, the paperwork that comes with that thing is horrible. The pink/white output will put out a ground when ANY of your four doors are opened, AND the trunk too. Only disadvantage of the GMDLBP is that your 2-way remote is going to report a trunk violation as a door violation instead. If you really need it to report trunk as trunk, you could get a different module or try to connect the Viper's blue trunk-trigger input directly to the car. I wouldn't bother. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you arm the Viper, and then open the trunk with the Viper remote, the Viper alarm might trigger. That's because the GMDLBP will be sending the "trunk open" status to the Viper's green door trigger input wire. So just keep in mind that when your install is all done, you might have to unlock with the Viper remote BEFORE opening the trunk, that's all.

Have everything installed and working but I have 1 problem, my remote start doesn't work. I receive a remote start error message, and lights flash 7 times indicating its in manual. Now the problem is when I go to program it to automatic transmission, it does chirp when I'm holding the control center button to let me know which menu I'm in. The chirp works fine for everything else

DEFROSTER: Information I have lists a white wire, negative trigger, "latched," at the BCM behind the glove box. Pink 24-pin plug, Pin A3. "Latched" means that the wire should be testing as a ground the entire time the defroster is on. The Viper should have some kind of defroster output, configurable for this in the menu. You might possibly be able to find the same defroster wire behind the climate control panel. Maybe, maybe not. Personally, I would have just bought one of the many other databus modules on the market that would have handled the defroster for you. I'm pretty sure the XK01 would do this, and plug into the connector for the GMDLBP. AUTO TRANSMISSION MODE: I've only programmed those units a few times, so I probably can't be of much help. I do know, though, that a door must be open during programming.....terrible junky design. So, basically, you have to have a ground going to the green door trigger wire on the unit. This should be coming from the wire on the GMDLBP, but you might want to test it. QUICK TEST: You don't need to take the car apart or anything. Open a door. Arm the Viper alarm. It should soon make a second chirp, to remind you that you "forgot" to close the door. If you don't get the error chirp, you know something isn't right with your door trigger. On the other hand, if the error chirp works, your door trigger is probably OK...try reading the programming instructions more slowly and carefully.

I have reread the instructions several times, and tried to program it several more, but still the same problem. Do you know of any members that's encountered this problem? If so could you direct them to this post. I will probly call and see how much an installer would charge to use a bitwriter to program it if no one can provide a solution

Programming can sure be frustrating. Did you try the test I mentioned? You NEED to make sure door trigger to the alarm is working right before going any further.

Yes I did the test and it chirp once when I armed it and again to let me know the door wasn't closed
