Installed a Viper 4204 in 2001 Silverado everything works fine except the door locks gave me some problems initially. Wiring diagrams show this vehicle as Type A, so I hooked up Viper door lock/unlock wires directly to vehicle door lock/unlock wires at BCM, but neither lock or unlock would work. I looked at the relay diagrams on the 12volt and then hooked up the relays for positive 3 wire and now only unlock works. I cannot get lock function to work with this configuration. Am I missing something and should hook up different relay configuration (i.e. 5 wire configuration)? At rest, wires are at ground, but when individually activated lock shows 12V and unlock shows 12V also.

Hopefully the remote starter's lock output didn't get damaged.
Test the green lock wire from the remote starter while operating the Viper lock button. See if it makes a ground.

Because and I know Chris doesn't agree with me but those diagrams don't show quenching diodes, not withstanding poor wiring, hands up anyone who's NEVER miswired a relay in a 5 wire set-up and blown a fuse?

Howard, my hand is not up.  door lock won't work remote start -- posted image.  Got a whole bag of 10 Amp fuses.

You could have the wrong ( Lock ) wire at the BCM.   Verify with a DMM.

Power Lock      Light  Blue (+)     @ BCM, brown plug, pin A4

That truck should be a straight (+) to the listed BCM lock wire.  You shouldn't need

a 5 wire relay set-up.  You can test your relay and connections by simply disconnecting
the Viper's Green Lock wire to the Relay ( hopefully @ Pin 85 ) and applying a brief chassis
ground to that relay pin.

Soldering is fun!

Confirming relay wiring:-

I meant all relay types above, upside down in a Euro Civic driver's kick panel with 5 wire locking and what YOU think goes to the doors is in fact coming from the control unit.
