The WHITE/ blue wire from the unit when momentarily grounded of course will start the car.

What im wondering is can a hook a momentary button to this wire and instead of having it go to ground, use a diode and hook it to the siren wire.

That way if the car alarm is going off the button shoudlnt work because its ground would be power.

Any one know if that will work?

Im not following your logic. Why are you hooking up a momentary switch to the WHITE/ blue wire and why are you try to disable this circuit when the alarm is sounded.
I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

i the winter time if my dog gets cold in the car when i am out and about, she knows how to hit the momentary switch and warm the car up. of course there are other uses i get from it too. pitstop, timer, and its hooked to a 556T.

but i dont want a possible thief to be able to hit the switch during a break in. i would rather the car not be able to start itself when being violated. using the GWA for this purpose is not possible.

my sisters have my roadmaster wagon on vacation right now, so i thought i would ask the board about this. they get back tonight or tomorrow and im gonna try it within a few days.

it seems to me that the switch should find ground to activate starting through the siren as long as the siren isnt screaming.
