Hello everyone! I've been browsing these forums for the last several days but have come to a point where i need some help.
I'm trying to do a favor for a friend. He has a 2005 envoy and picked up a Avital 4103 unit to remote start it. He is not mechanical inclined and asked for my help.
Here's what i have so far:
Passkey II bypass in place. Soldered resistor in place and went through the relearn sequence. Envoy starts and runs fine now. If more information is required i will post the link to the info i used.
Avital 4103 installed but not working correctly. I'm hoping to make this work without a bypass module.
Following this link:
http://alarmsellout.com/support/diagrams/vehicle/GMC%20ENVOY%202002-2005.pdf
I have wired the following:
Primary Harness
H1/1     not wired
H1/2     not wired
H1/3     not wired
H1/4     not wired
H1/5     not wired
H1/6     not wired
H1/7     not wired
H1/8     ground
H1/9     - parking light
4 pin satellite
1     not wired
2     not wired
3     not wired
4     not wired
Heavy Gauge Relay
1     wired to pink wire at main harness under column
2     wired to yellow wire at main harness under column
3     wired to orange at main harness under column
4     wired to red at main harness under column
5     not wired
6     wired to RED / white at main harness under column
Door lock harness
1     not wired
2     not wired
3     not wired
Remote Start Harness
H2/1     wired to ground
H2/2     wired to white tach wire at pcm
H2/3     wired to white at brake switch
H2/4     broke hoodpin installing (have another on order) not wired
H2/5     not wired
Now, with all that being said here's my problem. When i try to remote start the Envoy without the key in i get no dash lights, but rear view mirror lights and a check engine light. I hear the fuel pump come on but nothing else. It tries two or three times (cant remember at the moment) and stops.
If i have the key in and on accessory the Envoy will start without issue. Everything works as it should.
If i have the key in and on run/start the envoy will start without issue. Everything works as it should.
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, and have come to the point of sheer frustration. I'm going to take a step back for the night and hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you in advance.

I guess i should have stated all i want to work is the remote start. I'm not concerned with door locks or anything else.

on the avital heavy gauge harness both reds should see 12 volt constant power. The purple start wire should be at the vehicles yellow start wire. The Pink ign. wire should go to the vehicles pink ignition wire. The orange accessory wire should be on the vehicles orange accessory wire. The pink/white should be on the vehicles white ignition 2 wire. You may need a relay to power the brown 2nd accessory wire.   Not sure how you bypassed the passlock 2. That could be part of your problem but sounds like part of it is not energizing some of the ignition wires. There is an excellent write up on this vehicle under the remote start pictorial see trailblazer. Electrically they are pretty much the same.

The brown ACC 2 wire is not necessary to remote start the vehicle (I never power this wire and have never had any issues). From the looks of what you have wired, you did not tie your pink/white wire to the vehicle IGN 2 white wire which is exactly why the vehicle wont remote start.
I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

Being as neither (-) Status Output wire is used, how are you bypassing the Passlock2 immobilized system?
Soldering is fun!

Thought it was something like that.   2005 envoy and avital 4103 -- posted image.
Were you having problems with the Passlock2? If not, going with a bypass module like the Fortin INT-SL+ would have done the Passlock2 and handled the locks, parking lights, Factory Alarm ( if present ), rear defroster, heated seats and supplied a Tach signal.

While I always appreciate offers of monetary gratitude, maybe you could direct it to this site because it has both helped you and me and many others.

No money or drinks needed but I appreciate the thoughtful offer. The way that I look at it is you're not at college on this forum, so you don't have to pay for knowledge when your're in need just feel free to return your knowledge to help out another. That's my payment.
