Hello All, I am new here and this is my 1st post.

I installed the 6500 and the 555u but i cannot get my remote start to work.  The closest I got was to have it turn on immediately after i turned it off with the key.  Am I supposed to ground the blue wire?  Where can I get a good tach wire(color)?  Should I just use voltage sensing?  I don't know what to try now.  I hope you can help cause I had a guy at Good Guys try to make it work but he could not do it.

car=2001 infiniti QX4

alarm=sidewinder 6500esp w/555u

About which blue wire you talk ? The one from the System or the one from the 555U ?
The blue one from the 555U should be connected with the blue status wire from the alarm system.
What happends when you try to start ? Does the engine turn or not ?
A few details would help.

sorry for the lack of details.  the starter cranks but the engine does not start and it will keep on trying to start until I deactivate the remote start. I was talking about the blue wire on the system cause someone had mentioned to me that I might need to ground it.  I've also tried to see if it would start with the key in but it would not start.

If the car would not start even with the ignition key on then it might be an ignition problem or a tach signal problem.
Try to turn the key to the ignition point then try to start the system with the remote. It will start ?
If yes then you have connected wrong some ignition/AC wires.
If it will not start then it is the tach / voltage sense.
Try to program the alarm for voltage sensing and try again. Will start ?
If not change the voltage checking from high to low and the other way around.
It will start ?
Let me know.

I tried with the key to the ignition point and it still will not turn on.

It works fine only about 10secs after I have it learn the tach signal.

I am going to try the voltage sensing low and high now.  I'll let you know what happens.  Thx.

Itried voltage sense low and high with the key in and with it in the ON possition but I was unable to get it to turn on.  This is getting pretty frustrating.  I really hope you guys can help me out.  So as it stands right now, the closest I've gotten to make my r/s work is with tach sensing immediately after learnign the tach.  Is it possible I might have the wrong tach wire?  I am using the WHITE/ green from the ECU by the steering column.sidewinder 6500esp on qx4 -- posted image.

Well , I need to know if the STARTER will turn or not ??
Does the system TURN the engine or not ?
If you use current sensing then you don't have to use also the tach. Only one can be used , tach or voltage sensing.

Do you have a ground on the thin BLACK/ white wire ?

The starter is turning every time.  The engine is cranking fine, but it just will not start.  It acts as if it were lacking fuel but like I said, it will start only seconds after learning the tach.  When I programmed it to voltage sensing, I did not remove the tach wire from the tach source on the vehicle.  Should I have??

Also my BLACK/ white wire for neutral safety switch is connected to ground directly.  Should it not be??

P.S.  Thanx for your help with this problem I am having.  I'm sure it is something dumb that I missed.
