Aloha,
I will be installing a Viper 5704v this weekend and I would like to have my connections looked over to make sure I have a good understanding of what wire goes where. I will be installing the remote start/alarm on a 2004 Chevrolet Express 1500. I have taken my time and researched the product but I do have some questions. I have seen several installs online use SPDT relays but they never really explain why they are using them and where at. Do I need a SPDT relay for my install? If so where at and what is the configuration for it? At the bottom I have listed the harness connections for the Viper 5704v with what I believe is the correct corresponding connection on the Express 1500. If I need relays or diodes somewhere, can someone please note it for me? I will also be using a XK09 XpressKit on D2D mode.
Thank you so much

H1/5      WHITE  PARKING LIGHT OUTPUT????? (Is this BROWN / white@BCM or Brown@fuse box under driver seat?)
You can use either one ( only need one ) but it's easier to set the Viper to (-) and use the BROWN / White wire @ the BCM.
H2/6      GREEN  (-) DOOR TRIGGER INPUT (N/C* OR N/O)     Tan, Lt Green, yellow/black @ BCM with diode isolate (Which way should the diode face?)
1N4001 diode, bands away from the Viper ( towards the vehicle ).
H2/7 Domelight -       try the install without making this connection. If a Viper Unlock also turns on the interior
lights, you're all set.
H2/18      VIOLET / YELLOW      (-) 200mA STARTER OUTPUT ???? (What goes here?)     Not used
However if you wish to power the Brown ACC2 wire at the ignition harness, you will use a 30/40 Amp SPDT
relay and H2/22      ORANGE  (-) 200mA ACCESSORY OUTPUT to control the relay.
Make sure the XK09 is flashed with the correct firmware ( PLXR v3.03 ).
Soldering is fun!

Kreg, thanks! Your input completed my connections list. I think I will not be using the H2/18 like you first suggested, I don't know why I would otherwise. Hopefully I wont have an issue this weekend when I get started. I also made sure I flashed the XK09 with the correct firmware.

Question, I also have a 506t audio sensor, how do I connect this with the DEI shock sensor? Do both sensors connect to the same port or do they both connect individually to separate ports? Thanks...

Sorry, not a DEI alarm installer. Hopefully another forum member with Viper alarm experience can help you with that.
