dei new products

I was invited to a DEI convention to show off some of their new products , and they have some impressive stuff , for instance their stand alone remote starter ( RSR) using the DBALL is pretty impressive , I know it's been around for a bit but the tech is impressive , another piece they have that is being beta tested by shops around the country is a combo unit with that is a alarm and remoter starter that has a flash module built into it and get this using an Apple device you can flash it using Bluetooth on the phone and its a little bit bigger than a DBALL. Another first from them is a new unit that consist of a new remote and antenna to replace the one on a viper piece that incresses the range to approximately 1.8 miles . I actually met the dude that designed the T-Harness for DEI his name is Justine and he answered the phone for tech support for them , pretty cool guy , but he bashed Idatalink all nite which wasn't nice lol. Just thought I'd share this with you .triniforever

Rsr is the only thing nice about dball. until it works as well as idatalink. Then I may think about using them. he bashed idatalink because dei is always a step behind.. rant over

My thoughts exactly cuz on an idatalink install the wiring diagrams are so much easier and so is the programming .triniforever

Sat through the same spiel last week. I think he said he worked for unique whips prior to working at DEI. I just did an all DEI install on a 2013 Mustang. CS3000 with antenna, and smart start using DBALL. Seemed like a lot of extra connections for very little benefit. I like that they are beginning to use the CAN system for Tach and brake etc but the door locks and trunk being hardwired through the bypass and back into the BCM seemed a little redundant to me. This year is going to be as rough as it was the first year with FlashLogic/idata was. Remember the dropped data signals? Random no brake or no door locks even though it worked fine when it left. It took Idata a few years to work out the kinks. Gotta say the current DBALL is far better than it was last year, but has a ways to go. To master and control electricity is perfection. *evil laugh*

What I liked about Idata was that they listened to the techs feedback and improved the installs if and when possible. Time will tell if DEI will do the same.To master and control electricity is perfection. *evil laugh*
