Another 2004 grand prix viper 5704 problem but can't find the answer.
i installed the 5704about a year ago,{using this forum}, everything works perfect locks, unlocks, starts, alarm works. so today i notice that when i pop the trunk it unlocks the drivers door as well, the alarm stays armed but the door is unlocked. i dont know if it has been like this for ever?? does that sound normal? any suggestions??
thanks for the help so far

Really need more info to help. Did you use a bypass module? If yes, which one?

what does the bypass module have to do with the doors? or trunk ? just want to know if this is normal with grand prix or if changing the setting can help. the trunk pop is on the door lock switch in the car, you have to hold door unlock for a couple seconds to pop the trunk
module is Directed 556U-B / 556UW
hope that helps thanks for the reply

they asked about the bypass because some bypasses use data to control everything, now if you would have posted originally that you hard wired everything and that you buried a key to do the start you would have gave us enough info to go forward, but since you didn't we need to ask questions to find out how it was installed so we may then be able to answer you.
and now for some more questions, what wires are you connected to for unlock,disarm,and trunk release? could you have a long pulse on a wire for unlock,disarm, or trunk release that is triggering it?

on the viper
door lock=blue on the 3 pin door lock connector
unlock=green on the 3 pin door lock connector
trunk=RED / white on the 24 pin connector (with relay)
disarm(factory alarm disarm)=GREEN/ black on the 24 pin connector
in the car
door lock=RED / black - BCM, conn. C2, pin 2
unlock=ORANGE / black - BCM, conn. C2, pin 11
trunk=lt. blue+BCM, conn. C2, pin 45
disarm=purple- BCM, conn. C2, pin 24
i don't know about a long pulse the door locks and unlock work good the only thing is that i don't have to double unlock to open all the doors like i would with nthe factory remote
thanks

This will require some more testing. Does the disarm wire (purple BCM C2 Pin 24) also unlock the door? Apply a ground to this wire and see if the door unlocks. This may need to be done with the OEM alarm armed and all doors/trunk/hood closed.
You may have OEM Alarm Disarm with Trunk/AUX turned on in the viper unit and it may be triggering the accidental unlock.
To master and control electricity is perfection. *evil laugh*
