Hey all, I will try to make a long story short, I am trying to connect my dei 524k door lock kit, to my just installed viper 4105 remote start.   The guys at the shop that installed the remote start could not get the locks to work.
Anyway, here are the two diagrams for the locks and for the remote start. My basic question is, do I need a relay between the remote start (-) outputs, and the (-) outputs of the door locks?   I am assuming the door lock module is a relay in itself, so the triggers should be fine without the relay, but I want to make sure so I don't fry something.

It helps if you can post the make and model and year of the car?

Sure, it is an '06 Chevy Express cargo van. Nothing is related to this vehicle though, it is an aftermarket remote start, on aftermarket door locks.

Here are a couple clearer pics.   basically, do I need a relay between the remote starter and the door lock module?

No, no relays are needed. Connect the (-) outputs of the remote start to the (-) inputs of the door lock system.
Your "installer" couldn't figure out a door lock system? That's scary.

Thanks, that is what I figured, but wanted to make sure before I screwed something up.
The installers are normally pretty good, they are the #1 viper installers in the country. And this would be about the 10th remote start I have done there. But I think they just wanted me gone, they did the install last night and I was pretty wizzed when I picked it up this morning when the locks weren't hooked up.
Anyway, I am going to give it a try tomorrow and see if it will work as it should.
Thanks again, I will update if it works.

ok, got it all hooked up, and worked fine. BUT, it seems to be somewhat intermittent.   Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes it doesn't work at all.   I am not sure if it is related to the -25* weather right now, or something else.
I did solder and heat shrink the connections so I don't think that is the problem.   Only other thing I changed was to move the antenna from the middle of the windshield to the drivers side pillar. The antenna looked bad since I don't have a rear view mirror to hide it.

I just did one of these yesterday. I had the same problem and used relays, then I increased the lock/unlock time on the remote start unit to the longest time possible. That fixed the intermittent issue.

Would I need a bitwriter to do this, or could it be done with the valet button?
Thanks
