I have a 2014 Kia Forte, I want to install a Viper 5704v Remote start/Alarm system.
Now I have done some reading on different sites and majority say go with the DBall or DBall2 with the Viper system, so I looked on the Xpresskit website and look into the DBall to see if my vehicle is supported and it doesn't show to be supported but the 2013 Kia Forte is supported... So im at a loss of what I actualy need to get this installed and working properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. More info for my car: I do have power windows/power locks. Put it in drive the car locks, put it in park the car unlocks. Turn key off you can still operate windows until a door is opened. I have a regular key nothing special. I do not have keyless entry on the car, (its pretty standard)..Automatic transmission with the Manual shift option.
If you need more information please feel free to ask I will answer the best that I can. I realy want the viper 5704v and I want it to work properly.
Thanks for all the help and advice in advance.

First of only Canadian models has an immobilizer in them ,if your car is an American model it does not have an immobilizer ,that said your car is pretty straightforward to install an alarm/remote start and all the wires you need can be found @ the dash fuse box ,so the DBALL is really not necessary for this car!

So if a DBall is not necessary what all do I need to install the viper system? the system comes with a motion sensor and im going to add in a glass break sensor... Is there anything else im going to need besides the viper system itself?

The Viper system should be all you need to install. I have seen a couple with immobilizers though. I wouldn't trust that the DBALL will take care of the immobilizer, haven't tried it, but a 556UW would work if it does have one.
No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

I have checked the forte specs and from what I have read is that only the forte with the SMARTKEY has the immobilizer, otherwise they do not.
So next week hopefully I will buy the system and get it installed. And hopefully everything works well.
