I installed a Ultra Start U1280-XR-PRO 2800 in a 2004 Ford f-250 and is over cranking, checked tach connection to one of the coils and is fine. I also adjusted for over-cranking in the settings and is better but still over cranks a few seconds after start. Installed then programmed tach, found issue then programmed to low idle but problem still persists. Cross checked all wires connected to right location on three different sites and everything checks out. Moving ground next but everything seems to work so I'm thinking that's not the issue, Any suggestions ?

Two thoughts...

On Fords, I have found that the F.I. usually gives a better Tach signal than the coils.

With the Ultra Start units, sometimes you need to do a Factory reset on them to get a good Tach learn.  If you switch to another Tach source ( Coil to F.I. ) you must do a Factory Reset.  Remember that the Ultra Start will do an automatic Tach Learn the first time you start the engine with the key after the reset, so make sure the engine is warmed up.  Also, the reset will loose any of your program option changes except the thick White wire Flex relay ignition output ( and it won't loose the remotes already paired ).

Soldering is fun!
