Newbie here. Installed an Avital 5303L working great but I have one question. This alarm has a built in starter kill/anti grind but also has an option to add a starter kill relay by connecting H1/12. Install book says, "The orange wire may be wired to an optional Directed Electronics 8618 starter kill relay." Can anyone tell me the difference?

It is somewhat redundant and only a low current (-) output.

The earlier 5303 units did not have the two heavy gauge Starter wires ( Violet and Green ) like your newer unit does.   While you

could use it for Starter2 if your vehicle had two Starter wires, it can be used for other things.  Here is the description from the older
manual :
This wire supplies a (-)500 mA ground as long as the system is locked and when the remote start is activated. (This feature can
be turned off by programming the anti-grind option Off). This output ceases as soon as the system is unlocked. The GWA can be
hooked up to an optional starter kill/anti-grind relay control module, a voice module or any accessory that requires a ground
when armed
.

Soldering is fun!
