I have a Viper 5301 that I am installing into a 99 silverado. I am having an issue getting the lock and unlock to work. When you look at the viper manual it shows the fallowing,
Door Lock Harness 3 pin connector,
1 - blue - (+)lock (-)unlock
2 - empty
3 - green - (-)lock (+)unlock
To me this means that the viper module can ether supply voltage or ground. My module is not supplying a voltage. I was in a rush and forgot to test it for supplying a ground. Does anyone know if This is true or not? I can not find anywhere in the install manual shows how to switch the viper from supplying voltage or ground.

Bulldog Security list your 99 Silverado as Type A locks.
Look in the downloads section of this site for a Door Locks DF1041 document that will explain the difference of door lock systems.

Thanks for the link. I found the part that says I have a type A system. A three wire (+) pulse control. As far as the download section you are talking about. I do not see any "download" links. I looked all over in the install diagrams and install manuals but did not find anything that said DF1041. Can you get me the link of the download you are talking about or give me a little more detailed instructions on where I can find it.
Thank you.

Thanks,
That part of how my truck works I figured out. My problem is that when I test the viper 5301 at the blue and green wire to ground with a DVOM I am not getting a 12v pulse. Do you know if the 5301 can be switched from a 12v pulse to a ground pulse? I didn't have time to test my 5301 to see if it is pulsing ground. But I do know that it is not pulsing 12v. In those diagrams it shows the Type B and just has you switch the wires. When I tried it on my truck I ran the blue to the light blue and green to white with no results and also switched them so I had the green to light blue and blue to white and still nothing. I got the light blue and white wires from this link on here.

The brain, from the factory, alternates reversing +/- voltages on the door lock outputs. If your unit is not outputting the + pulse then the brain needs to be RMA'd Alternatively if you the module still outputting the (-) signal you can drive two relays to convert the (-) to (+).

That is what I was thinking of trying. I didn't know that the module pulled birthday the same time. I'll have to Seattle module when I get a chance Torre if the ground pulse is still working. Thanks for the info.

I guess I should have read my post better.
I didn't know the module pulsed both power and ground. I'll have to test it to see if the ground pulse still works. What I don't quite understand is it it pulses both why would you need to reverse the wires for a type B system?

It doesn't pulse them both at the same time. When you unlock the module outputs a (-) on one wire and a (+) on the other. When you lock it reverses - (+) on the first wire and a (-) on the second wire. So, lock in a type A system is unlock in a type B system. It has nothing to do with Seattle. :)
