Has anyone else ran into the heavy gauge wiring not matching the instructions. It seems the first four wires match, but the last four are switched around. Mine are Purple, green, fused red, orange, Fused red, pink, fused red, pink/White

The instructions are showing a 7 pin plug and the plug provided has 8 pins

What instructions are you referring to? Viper 571?, Avital?
I think you are asking about the heavy gauge harness. The 7 pin connector is the ribbon cable that goes from the remote start unit to the xcrs.
Compare the wiring diagrams from the Viper 571 and an Avital 5303. You will see there is a bit of wiring difference.
And I believe your 7th wire listed (fused red) is probably a fused RED / white.
The Viper 571 install manual is located in the downloads section of this site.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

It's the avital 5303. In the instructions it list the heavy gauge as a 7 pin. The wiring has 3 fused inputs vs the directions also shoeing two.

The 571 wiring matches the wiring I received with the avital 5303. Should I follow the directions for the 571?

You should follow the instructions for the system you have. HOWEVER, you need to have the correct parts/pieces. It would appear that you have the wrong harness.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

To finish I could probably switch a few of the wires around so I have the fused inputs in the right spot. Right?
