avital 4103 jeep wj

Hi Everyone I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee UK model. I have had problems with the factory keyless entry so I decided to purchase an Avital 4103 & DBALL2 from the USA to take care of the keyless entry and also add remote start. The items arrived I flashed the Dball with the correct firmware using the Xkloader2 and installed the Avital and dball into the Jeep but could not get the key bypass to work. Every time I tried to program the key the Dball LED just flashed red ten times, so I went onto the Xpresskit web site and filled in an issue form and sent it via XpressTracker. This is the reply I got back. "If this is an EURO vehicle, the key encryption is very different from the one sold in North America. We have no application for this on our EURO site" So I need a bit of help please. Does anyone know of a bypass unit that will work with a UK spec WJ. My other alternative is to go without the remote start and just let the Avital work the keyless entry. Does anyone know how I would connect the Avital up to do this. When I press the lock and unlock buttons on the Avital fob I get a -ve at the blue and green cables (3 pin plug) how would I wire that into the Jeep. Thanks

You won't you need a 556U for the bypass and you will have to lose a key. The DB-ALL should do your locks otherwise don't even attempt it, you will need 4 relays,2 in the driver's door and 2 in the passenger door also there will be some confusion over driver passenger side. At that time Euro market Grand Cherokees were actually built by Steyr in Austria. I suggest you go on to the Xpresskit site, it will probably have a US flag at top right. Click on it and then top left it will give you regional selections, save "Europe". Then enter Grand Cherokee 2003 etc. That will give you the solutions available.Test before boxing up.

I have been on the Xpresskit site for Europe and unfortunately there is no listing for Jeep. Tell me more about the relays please.

The wires at the switches are 5 wire, driver's door cover's driver's door only so you will need to repeat for the passenger side. Look on this site, relays section. You're right, I had to go back to the US section to find anything. Also look here in the archives or vehicle wiring section, 03 Grand Cherokee.Test before boxing up.

DEI used to do a 456J door lock module for that vehicle, might still be available in the US.Test before boxing up.

Don't think it applies to that model, AFIK there are no "triggers"* only motor wires at the switches. *Trigger being a low current POS or NEG relay trigger which is what the blue and green are from the Viper, low current NEG lock outputs.Test before boxing up.

Been looking on the forum at the relay pages https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#5w Is it the 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks diagram I need or the Actuators / Reverse Polarity, I'm not sure. Thanks
