I have a 2001 f350 with a 7.3 diesel, it has the CA530 system with the CATX130 remote. Ever since i bought the truck the security system works great, only problem is the remote start wont work.. You press the start button on the remote and it does at it should and starts warming the glow plugs etc.. Then it only cranks for 1sec and the truck doesnt start, so my question would be, is there a way to set the cranking time? Its a huge 7.3l so it needs atleast 2-3 secs of cranking time. I believe the wiring is good because with the keys in the ignition and truck running i can press the remote start and take the keys out and the truck stays running as it should. So is there a way to just increase the crank time? Thank you all so much, very much appreciated.

Here is a link to the CA 530 install guide :  http://documents.codesystems.com/700841.pdf

First check to see if the CA 530  Violet/White Tach wire is connected.  Running in Tach Mode usually works best.
On DIESELS the TACH wire is a WHITE/ PINK located at the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or at the Main Harness that runs
on the inside of the firewall to the left of the brake pedal.

There is a Fixed Crank Time setting but the max is 1.7 seconds...

Soldering is fun!

Searched through wiring and found that the violet/white wire isnt hooked up, essentially all i have to do is hook that up to the tach wire and it should go into tach mode? It cranks but only for the preset 1.7 secs so i assume when this wire is hooked up itll go into tach mode.. I appreciate your assistance!!

You will need to:
1.) Hook up the tach wire,
2.) Program the unit for Tach Mode (Option bank 6, feature 1 "on").
3.) Learn tach signal (See power up & programming section E).

What is the emergency override button? Is it the one on the box? I tried as it says and it wouldn't go into program mode so I saw that 20B needs to be grounded so I tried grounding it and all it did was blow a fuse.. Very confused how to enter programming mode, saw there were two wires from the box for programming mode, thanks guys

Found the over ride button, tried grounding 20B out and holding the over ride for 10 seconds or longer and nothing is putting it into program mode.. What else could cause it not to go into programming mode?
