Hello, I have read most of the posts relating to Astrostart remote starters, but did not find one that fit the description of what mine is doing. To begin with, I just bought this 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner said the last time he used the remote start, it worked. However, it had been several months. He said it was probably just the fob battery. I tested the battery and it was dead. I replaced the battery and immed. the light on the fob was functional. I pressed the start button and the parking lights came on, then the truck started right up. I thought that that was an easy fix. However, after about 10 seconds, the truck shut off. It did restart, but each time, it would only run a few seconds, then shut off. I noticed that as soon as the remote started the truck, the parking lights would go out. I'm not sure if it is related, but thought I'd mention it. After reading the posts here, I located the module under the dash and counted the flashes. it repeats flashing 13 times, until I use the fob to start the truck and then after it quits, then it will flash 7 times, then goes back to flashing 13 over and over again. The truck starts and runs normally with the key. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ptcrazy.....

Update to original post: I performed the reset procedure, using the dip switch 8 method, and the truck started, but after 15-20 seconds it shut back off again. The only code flashing now is 13. However, I noticed that while it WAS running for that short time, the ABS light and air bag light both remained on the whole time. Not sure what is causing the vehicle to shut down, but was hoping someone had some possible suggestions that might resolve this issue. Thanks for looking...Dana.
