So i went to Al&eds to get a security system installed... My only desire, use my OEM key fob.
So pick it up, 420 bucks later, everything was great. So far so good. Next day went to hook it up to flat tow and noticed 2 things....
1. The check engine light was on
2. You could remove the key, and the jeep would keep running..
That said, called them mid trip down the highway to ask wth... Of course no answer. So when i got back i dropped it off. Well when i picked it up the guy said that this was a programable feature... Something about how it was jeep, sounded like BS ... The check engine light was off as well.
Well took it home and called JEEP, of course they said it was not a feature and said in fact a huge safety risk. Called ALs and said take it out. Well short story, they took it out and still didnt fix it. So i remembered that the installer remove a piece from the factory KARR system... Found the cut wires under the dash, well the moron spliced 2 together to keep them from touch i guess. Cut 1 of the two, and that fixed the problem.
Now to my point, i purchased the same components, figure i can install this myself.... Well apparently im lost a bit. Couple questions.
1. What pins/connector do the status LED connect to?
2. On the printout for the quick customized install guide, the one you get after you flash your module, it says to use a bunch of different wires... But the install guide only shows the need to slice 6 or so. I assumed that the module talks to the CAN system... So it makes it a bit easier.
3. I want to use both a motion sensor and a shock sensor.. Do i just splice the 4 wires together... And plug it into the 4 pin port?
Sorry for the dumb questions, but there seems to not be a lot of info out there.
Thanks,
catback

The Dball2Pro really is one of those unit's not for the amateur or uninitiated.
To start, firmware capability and setup may dictate different but:
The LED is part of the "control center" which is a remote antenna, valet button, and status LED all-in-one. It would plug into the green 6-pin plug.
A customized install/wiring guide always takes precedence over a generic guide. Mainly because wiring on units like this is firmware dependent (again capabilities and setup).
And last and your most important question, the sensors. Unfortunately unless you have a hybrid unit, which is part of alarm/remote start systems/kits like a Viper 5710, the Red 4-pin security sensor port is disabled.
