Why do some vehicles have separate door switch wires for each door,like some bmws?Do it once,do it right - This means no short cuts. You never get paid twice for having to do the job twice because it wasn't done right the first time.

The short answer would be: So that Driver Information Center indications can be generated. IE, "Left Rear Door Ajar". In the old days, there was a single "door ajar" indicator, and the pin switches were common to each other. Certain BCM functions such as dome light strategy, RAP deactivation, key-in-ignition buzzer, etc all require knowing which door is open, hence the individual switches and circuits.
